Sharon Potts has been a physical therapist in practice since 1986. She received her BSPT from Beaver College, now Arcadia University. Since graduating, she has practiced physical therapy in a variety of settings-acute, rehab, home health and outpatient care settings. Early in her carrier, she had the privilege of attending a course by Shirley Sahrmann, PT Of Washington University. This course helped to develop Sharon's eye for faulty movement patterns as potential mechanical sources for pain.
Sharon is certified in Level 1 and 2 Therapeutic Dry Needling through Kinetacore/EIM and approved by the Maryland State Board Of Physical Therapy Examiners to practice this skill. This technique in combination with prescribed and very carefully executed exercises is proving to be very effective in restoring function and significantly reducing pain.
During her early years in the outpatient setting, Sharon began working with clients who have headaches and jaw pain-TMD-Temporomandibular Dysfunction. Since that time, Sharon has been privileged to attend courses taught by Dr. Mariano Rocabado, PT, Santiago, Chile. Care based on this approach analyzes joint function and addresses restoring healthy function to the temporomandibular joint, the head and the neck regions.
Sharon very much enjoys working one on one with her clients. She feels that this time allows her to fully assess her clients and to better address their needs with a program that is designed to their individual needs.
